River Rafting in Himalayas, Nepal

In Nepal everyone is getting up very early so we also had to get up at 5:00am in order to get to the river rafting start point on time. Today we had a fantastic day. Another extremely successful and wonderful day in Nepal. We went for River Rafting in Himalayas. The place was about 3 hours away from Kathmandu. We were about 20 people in a van. Yeah, it wasn’t that confirmable but it was lots of fun. The river rafting took about 4 hours, 80 kilometers. It was a full day activity. After the rafting we ate some real Nepalese food, just next to the river and that was so cool. There were about 300 people that did rafting today. Over 30 boats. Lots of fun and the scenery was phenomenal. To get back to the city of Kathmandu it took us about 4 hours. We left at 5:00am and came to the hotel at 10pm. An excellent day full of beautiful memories.

The magic behind River Rafting is the extreme and never-ending thrills in the untamed rivers. River Rafting or white water rafting as some people call it means cruising down a rushing river in an inflatable rubber raft or white water kayak over crashing waves and swirling rapids for the excitement of a lifetime. The rivers in the Himalayas are among the best in the world for river rafting sports, with many staircase rapids that challenge the body and spirit of the river runner. The river we were on was cutting against the rocky banks, crashing into rocks, breaking into water rapids, swirling, foaming, and falling in a thunderous din. Lots of fun. The scenery was incredible; very beautiful and peaceful.

Nepal has earned a reputation as one of the best destinations in the world for white water rafting. Nepal’s thundering waters, coming from the glaciers of the mighty Himalaya, provide unmatched thrills for rafting and immersing oneself in the landscape. A rafting trip is definitely the highlight of my stay in Nepal.
Vodpod videos no longer available. from holmengren.wordpress posted with vodpod Mountain flight and river rafting experiences were highlights of our trip in Nepal. We wish we could stay little longer to do some trekking and other outdoor activities, but we will definitely be back. I definitely would like to do some expeditions and peak climbing, trekking, jungle safaris and other activities. Next time I will make sure to stay at least for a week or longer. This 4 day trip was great experience that I always will remember and keep in my heart.

Where in the World can you get so much fun for only US$25 for a full day activity in beautiful and majestic mountains of Himalayas? Come to Nepal.
