Today my friend and I went to Mumbai. The flight was very short, just one hour and a half from Bangalore International Airport. We made the reservation at the ITC Grand Central Hotel, 5 star hotel located in south Mumbai. At the airport the hotel car was waiting for us. The hotel was very nice and the ITC Grand Central Hotel is the tallest building in the city of Mumbai and apparently one of the best hotels in India. The hotel is part of Starwood Hotels and it is a Luxury Collection Hotel. We booked an executive room and we got complimentary upgrade to Junior Suite.

The Junior Suite was great and consisted of one very large living room, powder room, big bathroom, huge bedroom and a very big walk-in closet. What I liked was that both big flat screen TVs went on mute automatically when you lift the phone to talk. Also, everything was censored. When you get into the bathroom the lights are on automatically and when you walk out they are off. Anyway, the view from 28th floor from our room was good too, especially at the night.

Most of the day we spent at the spa and watching openings of the 29th Olympics Games in Beijing. The spa was small and I was not completely satisfied with the service. The temperature in the Jacuzzi was not satisfying and the Mud Massage that I got today was just ok. It was little bit cold, mud everywhere, although I felt little bit better afterwards.

The food at the restaurant was great. I really loved the buffet and the roasted chicken was perfectly prepared. I haven’t tasted this good chicken since I left New York. The evening we spent at the suite watching Openings of the 29th Olympic Games and eating dinner.

Tomorrow we are planning to discover what Mumbai has to offer and to see the party life here in Mumbai that everyone is talking about.

  1. Really interesting post…..Next time I stay in one of the best hotels I would surely try the mud massage.
